Climate change

In Room 1 we have been doing persuasive writing. In week 5 we did it on children under 12 should be allowed a phone. Then in week 6 we did it on caged chickens should be banned and now this week we were doing it on climate change. Make sure you check those out too if you haven't already. I enjoyed learning new facts but I found it hard to get heaps of facts that I understood. Here is my one!

Climate change
What is climate change and what is it doing to our planet? Climate change is different to Global warming. Climate change is when you have more sun, more rain, hail, snow and wind. Global warming is when the globe gently gets warmer.

My first main point is the Amazon Forest is being cut down and this year the Amazon Forest is burning more than ever. The Amazon rainforest is known as the earth's lungs because it holds 20% of the earth's oxygen. The Amazon Forest is home to millions of species of plants and millions of tribes. The fires are burning these animals and plants habitats.

My second main point is glaciers are melting. You're probably thinking “Who cares that glaciers and melting?” Well you should because sea levels rise and it will flood the low land and sea temperatures are rising.

My last main point is about fossil fuels. The fossil fuels are letting too much CO2 out which is carbon dioxide. Fossil fuels are letting out too much for air like coal, oil and diesel. I'm giving you some things you could do. Try going by bus and getting the whole family to do the same, walk whenever you can instead of driving, get your bike out instead of driving, plant trees or reduce reuse and recycle.

In conclusion, I believe we should try to stop climate change because the Amazon Forest is dying, the glaciers are melting and fossil fuels are letting out too much hot air.
